About me…
I’m Claire, and I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. As well as a passion for understanding people and what motivates them, I am driven by a desire to support people to live a life that feels full.
In order to do this, I draw on a range of therapeutic models and take an approach to therapy of compassion and collaboration, I want to work alongside you to find a way through the difficulties you are experiencing.
I aim to create a therapeutic space the helps you feel comfortable to talk about the things that feel important to you, and the things that feel difficult to name. Establishing a therapeutic relationship between us is a crucial part of the therapeutic process and I believe that the therapeutic space should be one where laughter and humour are important.
I work in a neuroaffirmative way and have experience of adapting therapy for those who self identify or are diagnosed as neurodivergent, or for individuals with intellectual or other neurological differences.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Studies (BSc hons)
Graduate Diploma in Psychology (GDip)

Alongside working online in private practice, I also work in the NHS. I have worked in the NHS in mental health services for 19 years, supporting people with a range of complex mental health difficulties. As a clinical psychologist, I have had the privilege of working with diverse individuals, helping them with various mental health issues and life experiences. I offer a range of psychological services, including online assessment and therapy, online clinical supervision and specialist assessments for court.
I have extensive experience in both forensic services and in working with neurodivergent people and people with intellectual and developmental differences.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained in multiple therapeutic models and take an integrative approach to therapy. This means that I learn about you and your experiences and what you want to gain from therapy, and use that information as well as my clinical experience and training and my knowledge of the evidence base to develop an individualised approach to your therapy, which might involve drawing on multiple approaches to therapy.
Some of the approaches that I commonly draw upon include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I am also trained to use Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
